Food grade sodium carboxymethyl cellulose (abbreviated as NaCMC, referred to as CMC) is a water-soluble anionic ether product, using natural cotton and wood fiber as the basic raw material, by sodium hydroxide and etherification agent chloroacetic acid reaction. CMC aqueous solution is thickened, stable, maintaining moisture, emulsification and suspension.

This method for preparing sodium carboxymethyl cellulose obtained has the advantages of proper viscosity and good acid resistance, and can be used as a suspension stabilizer for lactic acid beverage.
